The Fernando armchair project kick-off, started in 2016 with the initial inspiration based on the iconic shape of Henri Delaunay’s European Championship Trophy, awarded in that same year to Portugal’s football team managed by the coach Fernando Santos. Shortly afterwards the initial concept was being rendered through a beautiful set of high standard Italian leather hexagonal tufting panels, masterfully upholstered onto a majestic American oak veneer frame. This beautiful armchair was later offered to Fernando Santos and installed in his living room over at Cascais, as a way of saying thank you in the name of the whole nation.
